My passion for film and animation started as a young child watching cartoons and home videos with my brother. This love prompted me to ask for a camcorder for my sixth birthday, and since then I haven’t stopped pursuing a life behind the camera. From a young age, I made stop motion animations with clay and found objects, something that I decided to pursue professionally as an art student at Herberger School for Arts and Design at Arizona State University.
My name is Conner Jensen and I am a Pacific Northwest-based animator with a focus in combining the digital and physical world in ways that are engaging and thought-provoking. While cartoons are often thought of as merely for children, my work is intended to engage people of all ages and tackle the major problems of the present day. My collection of work incorporates sculpture and video work to create animations that utilize handmade puppets with original designs. Major inspirations include the Brothers Quay, Nick Park and Ralph Steadman who always strove to push the boundaries in their work in animation.
